As a General Construction Labourer, your responsibilities will include:

• Site Preparation and Maintenance: Assist in setting up construction sites, including barricades, signage and maintaining site cleanliness and safety.
• Material Handling: Load, unload and transport construction materials and equipment to designated areas.
• Assisting Tradespeople: Support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, bricklayers, and machine operators by providing necessary tools and materials.
• Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction machinery and tools as directed, following all safety protocols.
• Compliance: Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements.

What the job requires

• Experience: Previous experience in construction or labour intensive roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Reliability: Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Transportation: Reliable means of transport to various sites across metropolitan Melbourne.
• Certifications: Possession of a valid White Card (Construction Induction Training) is mandatory. Additional certifications, such as Working at Heights or Elevated Work Platform, are advantageous.
